Year1/2 Cobb & Co Excursion

year 1 & 2 excursion to cobb & co
Last Wednesday, the Year One and Two students went on an adventure to visit the Cobb & Co Museum.   The focus of the excursion was looking at “life in the olden days”.  The children had been looking forward to this excursion as they have been learning about how life has changed from the past in history this semester.  The excitement was hard to contain as we began our trip riding on the big bus.  For some children, this was their first big bus trip!  The activities and things to see and do were very interesting with a lot of hands-on activities including looking at old        telephones, typewriters, cameras, cars, technology, cooking, crafts and trades.  There were ladies spinning wool, cooking stew, men making wooden rocking horses and old fashioned wagon wheels.  Once we had finished our activities inside, it was time to head outside for some lunch, a look at the baby animals, whip cracking performances and old-time singing with lagerphones and   other old-time instruments.  Overall, the day was a great success and a lot of fun learning and thinking about how life has changed over the years.  Thank you to all of the wonderful parents who came to help on the day and a big thankyou also to Mrs Long for coming along as well.
